My name is Marc Suñé and I'm a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellow at the Mathematical Institute in the University of Oxford. Within the Mathematical Institute, I'm affiliated to the OCIAM.
My research is concerned with the mechanics of thin elastic objects, with particular focus on the interplay of elastic instabilities, surface tension and thermal fluctuations. I use a mix of mathematical methods to gain physical insight into idealisations of natural systems (e.g. composite materials and animal locomotion) as well as engineered objects (e.g. mechanical metamaterials).
In the past, I studied in the University de Barcelona, and did postdocs in Aarhus, Manchester and Nordita (Stockholm).
