Amanda is a Departmental Lecturer at the Department of Engineering Science, and a member of the Wind and Tidal Energy Research Group in the Environmental Fluid Mechanics group. She also works collaboratively with the Oxford Thermofluids Institute. Amanda specialises in unsteady fluid mechanics for aerofoils, wings and rotors; her research topics include unsteady flow interaction with wind and tidal turbines, vortex instability in turbine wakes, and hydroelastic modelling for load alleviation and bio-inspired propulsion. Her group uses primarily numerical simulation and analytical modelling.
