Mr. Kaitao (David) Tang started his DPhil project in Michaelmas 2021 under the supervision of Profs. Wouter Mostert and Thomas Adcock, focusing on the production of ocean sprays. Before coming to Oxford, he studied Energy and Power Engineering at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China and graduated with a B. Eng. degree. During his undergraduate period, he came across fluid mechanics and developed a profound interest in multiphase flows, having conducted two research projects engaging compressible flow phenomena.
Here at Oxford, he continues to develop his expertise in air-sea interactions and multiphase direct numerical simulations using Basilisk, and he also holds undergraduate teachings including both tutorials and lab demonstrations. In his spare time, he enjoys jogging, swimming and cooking; and he is also a self-educated polyglot maintaining conversations with friends from disciplines drastically different from his own.
